INTEGRITY - RESPECT - ENDEAVOUR - COMPASSION - COURAGE
Reception had an amazing afternoon on Animal day when we were visited by the Wood 'n' Craft team. They started the day with an introduction to the team and a lovely Spring story involving a rabbit and a hedgehog. When it was their group's turn, they went into the 'Caterpillar Room' and were tasked with making their own hedgehog. They were told about the importance of being safe, wearing protective goggles and how to use each tool safely and effectively. They had to use sandpaper to smooth out the edges, hammer in as many nails as they could manage into the back, screw in the eyes with a screwdriver and a drill. The grown ups then glued on the feet to finish them off. We were blown away by the children's skill in using the tools effectively, resilience to keep going, their maturity and also respect for the equipment and our visitors.
