Our Year 1 children had a fantastic time when the Fire Service came to visit our school. The firefighters spoke to the class about their important work and answered lots of thoughtful questions. The children were especially excited to sit inside the fire engine and explore the equipment used in real emergencies. They also had the chance to look closely at the firefighters’ protective kit and learn how each piece helps keep them safe. It was an engaging and memorable experience that helped bring their learning to life that we have been covering through our fire and water topic. Thank you very much to the IOM Fire Service for providing such a fantastic lesson!
