Year 4 Trip to the Manx Museum

Today we went to the Manx Museum for their Geology in Mann workshop. This allowed us to consolidate some of our rocks and soils learning from Year 3 and also explore The Great Deer skeleton, which linked in nicely to our current science topic 'The Skeleton'. We tested the permeability and hardness of different types of rock and created branching databases using the 'Ask Oscar' ICT programme. We also got to explore some fossils and rock types under the microscope!
