Friday afternoon saw Onchan School take part in a fundraiser for Isle Listen for Children's Mental Health Week! Parents, School Governors, Community Police and Onchan Commissions and MHKs were all invited into school for coffee, cake and to join in with the children's learning for PSHE this week. Holly and Rebecca from Isle Listen were also available for parents to talk to. The event was a huge success and they were overwhelmed by the support for Children's Mental Health. While staff provided the majority of the cakes and biscuits, our Year 2 and Year 4 children also baked for the occasion, creating some lovely shortbread and cupcakes! In classes during the afternoon the children were discussing this year's theme 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself'. As part of this theme Isle Listen will be creating a large display at their office in Castletown using 'watering cans' created by the children, so we can't wait to see all of our designs along with other schools' on the island. This was a lovely event to bring the community together and we hope to have raised lots of money for a charity who do so much for our children within school.
