The children took part in a couple of special afternoons inspired by Victorian-style learning. They were split into boys’ and girls’ classes, while Mr Jones and Miss Diack became very strict Victorian teachers for the afternoon! The boys took part in a range of building activities, but not before completing mathematics and Latin lessons using chalkboards. The girls began with alphabet activities before decorating dolly pegs, creating paper dolls and learning traditional nursery rhymes, clapping songs and circle games.
The children found the experience fascinating and were very surprised by how strict Victorian teachers were. They were shocked to learn that children could be sent to the Headmaster’s office to get the cain if they got in trouble!
