INTEGRITY - RESPECT - ENDEAVOUR - COMPASSION - COURAGE
On Friday 14th November, Onchan School joined millions around the world in celebrating World Diabetes Day! To show our support, children came to school dressed in blue - the official colour of diabetes awareness. We started the day with a special assembly all about World Diabetes Day, where we learned what diabetes is, why it’s important to raise awareness, and how we can help support those living with it. Back in class, everyone got creative by designing and making their own World Diabetes Day badges to wear proudly throughout the day. To end our day, we enjoyed reading How to Manage a Mammoth, a story that helps children understand what it’s like to live with diabetes in a fun and relatable way. We hope all the children came home and shared something new they learned about diabetes with their families.
