INTEGRITY - RESPECT - ENDEAVOUR - COMPASSION - COURAGE
We have enjoyed starting our Harvest topic by reading The Gruffalo! We’ve taken part in lots of exciting activities, including making our own stick puppet characters and spiral snakes. We also used play dough to create our own Gruffalos, carefully adding prickles, tusks and terrible claws! Working collaboratively, we created our own group characters to decorate our classroom area. In outdoor learning, we made Gruffalo crumbles using natural materials such as leaves, twigs and berries, before heading into the woods on a Gruffalo hunt to see if we could spot any clues.
In Drawing Club, we had great fun drawing our own Gruffalos and inventing secret codes that made them do some very strange things! We’ve also been exploring autumn treasures in our tuff trays, investigating conkers, pine cones, acorns and lots of crunchy, crispy leaves.
In the sand tray, we explored lentils and pumpkin seeds, practising our pouring skills and talking about containers being full, empty or partly full. There has been lots of imaginative play, collaboration and exciting learning as we continue to explore the world of The Gruffalo and the changing season!
