Reception had a very busy but exciting day celebrating Chinese New Year. We made lanterns and handheld drums that we took with us on a parade through school. We created a Chinese dragon like they have at street parties, that we took through school with Chinese New Year music and announcing, "Gung, hai, fat choi" - to wish good fortune. We had to be brave as a lot of people came out of the classrooms to clap and cheer us along! In the afternoon the classroom transformed into a Chinese restaurant and our Reception staff were the waiters, taking our orders and bringing us Chinese food to try!
