ONCHAN SCHOOL

INTEGRITY - RESPECT - ENDEAVOUR - COMPASSION - COURAGE

Today we explored farming and food in topic. We sorted fruits into two group, the ones we thought could be grown in the Isle of Man and ones we thought needed to be grown in hotter countries. We then did some tasting of exotic fruits (avocado, pineapple, mango, papaya, banana and passion fruit) and gave them each a star rating. In the afternoon we had a special visitor ‘Kirree Kermode’ in school to talk to us all about what farming is like on the Isle of Man. Then we also found out about what farming is like in Kenya and discussed the similarities and differences that we had learnt.
